MATCH REPORT: PENYBONT 5-0 FLINT TOWN UNITED

On a blustery Saturday afternoon, Flint Town United paid a visit to the DragonBet Stadium to face Penybont in what proved to be a memorable league fixture.

The boys in blue had a game to win, and they wasted no time in showing their intent. In the 11th minute, midfielder Clayton Green opened the scoring for Bont with an assertive strike from close range. Bont continued their dominance, and in the 41st minute an agile James Crole diving header doubled the lead going into the break.

The second half began with an almost instant emphatic strike from Noah Daley, which was saved by the Flint goalkeeper and put out of play for a corner. Just minutes later, a moment of technical brilliance saw Nathan Wood volley home a third goal for Bont. In the 60th minute, a clever effort from James Crole rose narrowly over the crossbar. The game continued with flair and creativity, and only a minute later Noah Daley skilfully rounded the keeper and slotted home a fourth for Bont. In the 65th minute, a firm Crole strike rippled the back of the net, but it was disallowed for offside. Two minutes later, Archie Matthews calmly collected a headed effort from Flint.

In the 80th minute, a goal-line clearance denied Gabe Kircough and Bont a fifth of the afternoon. But only seconds later, following further dominance in the box, Noah Daley netted his seventh Bont goal of the season since joining in the summer. In the 88th minute, the Bont Bank welcomed academy player Peter Coe, as the 17-year-old came on for his JD Cymru Premier debut, alongside Jacob Jones, who replaced Mael Davies and Kane Owen.

A five-star performance and a clean sheet saw Rhys Griffiths’ side climb into third place as Bont head into their next fixture away to league leaders Caernarfon Town.
