RHYS THOMAS STEPS DOWN AS PENYBONT WOMEN’S MANAGER

We are disappointed to inform supporters that women’s team manager, Rhys Thomas is leaving the club.

Rhys led the women to promotion to the Genero Adran South last season, with the team not just consolidating, but achieving a highly creditable 4th place. The women’s team also capped a hugely memorable day for the club on Sunday, with an emphatic 4-1 victory in the Hugh James SWFA Women’s Cup.

Rhys Thomas, said:

I’m incredibly grateful for the support and trust the Club has shown me over the past five years — from working in the Academy to managing the women’s side for the past two seasons. It has been a real honour to be part of the journey. The team is in a fantastic place following the cup win and is 100% set up to push on and compete even further next season.”

Penybont FC Chief Executive, Neil Ward, said:

On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Rhys for his hard work and successful leadership of the team and wish him well in his future coaching journey, the next step being manager of Briton Ferry Llansawel Women in the Genero Adran Premier. A successor will be recruited promptly to ensure the women have a replacement Manager ahead of preseason.”
