As Penybont’s Novira Cymru Premier campaign draws near, let’s take a look at our transfer business so far this summer.
Ryan Hill
The 28 year-old Englishman signed from National League side Aldershot, where he made 47 appearances, and picked up nine goals and five assists across the season.
Hill has previously featured as a key part of other National League outfits such as Dagenham & Redbridge and Eastleigh. He has played a big role in Bont’s success this pre-season and featured across both legs of our Conference League campaign.
Eduino Vaz
The 24-year-old defender scored on his pre-season debut against Cardiff Dracs following his move to Penybont from former EFL club and current National League side Sutton United. Vaz also featured across both legs of Bont’s Conference League tie against FC Santa Coloma.
The highly rated full-back from Guinea-Bissau has previously been a part of sides such as Barnsley, Sutton and most recently, Hampton & Richmond on a loan deal.
Tom Mehew
The 25 year-old Englishman joined Bont from National League South side Chippenham Town. His previous clubs include League One side Bristol Rovers as well as Bath City and Gloucester City.
He has stood out as a key midfielder in our pre-season and European fixtures where he won Bont’s MOTM in the home leg, and is highly rated by his new teammates!
Dan Jefferies
The 27 year-old centre-back returns to Penybont, following just one season away at fellow Cymru Premier side Briton Ferry. Jefferies made 155 appearances for Bont, netting eight times in that period and establishing himself as a Penybont great.
Prior to his move to Penybont in 2019, Jefferies previously featured in the Scottish Premiership and Championship for sides such as Dundee and Patrick Thistle.
Marinho Manga
The 26 year-old Portuguese star signs from Cymru South side Cardiff Draconians where he spent the past three seasons. Prior to his move to the Dracs, Manga spent time at Taff’s Well and Treharris Athletic.
‘Rinho’ scored for Bont in both our 4-0 pre-season victory over his former side and in our 2-2 draw against Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Morgan Weaver
The Penybont academy graduate returns to the DragonBet Stadium following a stint with Carmarthen Town in the Cymru South.
Since his departure in 2021, alongside Carmarthen Town, Weaver has featured for sides such as Llanelli, Pontardawe Town and Pure Swansea, where he has gained a host of Welsh pyramid playing experience.
Liam Shepherd
The Welsh defender made his Bont debut on Thursday evening in Bont’s highly contested draw against Connah’s Quay Nomads.
He has previously featured for sides such as Swansea City when they were in the Premier League, Peterborough and Yeovil in the EFL League One and Salford, Newport and Forest Green Rovers in the EFL League Two as well as a couple of Wales U21 caps!
Max Melbourne
Max is an English defender with plentiful experience in the EFL which he will look to transfer into the Cymru Premier.
He has featured for Lincoln City and Morecambe in the EFL League One, Stevenage and Walsall in the EFL League Two, Ross County, Partick Thistle in the Scottish Premiership and Championship and recently featured for Alisha Lehmann’s MVP FC in KSI’s Baller League.
Ethan Vaughan
Ethan is another Welsh defender with a host of experience across both Wales and England despite being only 22!
Ethan has featured for Solihull Moors and Chippenham Town in the National League and National League South as well as Pontypridd United in the Cymru Premier.
Dan Higgs
Dan is a professional first-team goalkeeper at Cardiff City who recently signed his first professional contract at the club and has featured in numerous matchday squads.
He joined up with Penybont aged 18 last season on a short-term scholarship loan in the second half of the season and after some consistently top performances, the club is delighted to rejoin with our beloved goalkeeper!
Alex Pennock
The talented goalkeeper rejoins Penybont after his departure in 2024. He has since appeared across the Cymru Premier and Cymru South for sides such as Briton Ferry Llansawel, Llanelli Town and Trefelin.
He has featured in a couple of pre-season fixtures before he joins up with the squad on our pre-season trip.
